Camp Hill loss signals end of an era in Pennsylvania field hockey

Camp Hill’s 3-2 loss on Tuesday to East Pennsboro in the District 3 Class AA first round was more than the end of a playoff run for the Pennsylvania field hockey team. It was the final game, after 25 years and 299 wins, for coach Anna Baldini. And that’s not a typo: Baldini ended her career a game short of 300 wins. But as she said after the game, her record’s not the point. “You don’t coach to get a number for yourself, you don’t coach for you. You coach for them, for heaven’s sake.” Read the rest of her great post-game comments at Penn Live.
