Decision dooms field hockey in Philly?


Now THIS isn’t good news. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association recently decided to eliminate a girls’ soccer championship in the spring, beginning next year, and hold only one in the fall. That, in turn, might mean the end of some of the field hockey programs in Philadelphia’s Public League, because fall soccer will compete for not only players but field space.
