Raneem El Weleily Wins Carol Weymuller Open

Harrow Sports would like to congratulate Raneem El Weleily (EGY) on her substantial win at the Gold 45 Carol Weymuller Open in Brooklyn, New York. Not only did Weleily, who is one of Harrow’s sponsored squash players, finally overtake England’s Jennifer Duncalf to win the overall event— including the biggest prize of her career, but she also scored the highest ranking of her professional career, shooting from number 12 to seven [3] on the Women’s International Squash Player’s (WISPA) official world rankings.

Duncalf, who is Great Britain’s top female squash player and last year’s Carol Weymuller Open champion, was favored to win once again—that is, until Weleily arrived ready to take the lead.

Harrow racquet in hand, she went full-strength and managed to win all three games against the world number 2, at 11/7, 15/13 and 11/4.

Weleily is currently competing in the 2011 U.S. World Open from Oct. 2-3 in Philadelphia.
