Round Up: #TeamHarrow at U.S. Open 2016

Held October 8 – 15 in Philadelphia, the PSA Delaware Investments U.S. Open 2016 brought together the top squash players in the world to compete for $150,000 in both the men’s and women’s competitions. In the Men’s tournament, World No. 4 and winner of last month’s Al Ahram Open, Karim Abdel Gawad advanced clear through to Friday’s semi’s. Facing England’s three-time World Champion Nick Matthew, Gawad fought all the way through to a fifth game tie-break, with Matthew advancing on to the finals.

Facing off with Nour El Sherbini, last month’s Al Ahram Open Champion El Welily may not have advanced to the Finals of the US Open, but her performance (particularly a trick shot) earned her a play in ESPN SportsCenter’s Top Plays of the Night.
