Unbeaten Gardiner rolling in Maine

Kashley Weymouth scored three goals as the Gardiner (Maine) field hockey team blanked Maine Central Institute 5-0 recently in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B play. Weymouth now has scored nine goals through the first six games for Gardiner (6-0). Kayla Michaud stopped eight shots for MCI (1-4-0). In other Maine field hockey action:

Maranacook 3, Waterville 0: Hayley Pierce, Meghan Surette and Amanda LaPorte scored second-half goals to lead the Black Bears. Messalonskee 1, Bangor 0: Taylor Libby’s goal lifted the Eagles. Oak Hill 10, Lincoln 1: Ashley Paradis, Emily Grass and Becca Tucci scored two goals apiece to lead the Raiders.
