West Deptford defense throttles Holy Spirit to win South Jersey Group 2 final

Top-seeded West Deptford High School was simply stifling against No. 2 seed Holy Spirit in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group II field hockey final on Monday, cruising to a 4-2 victory for the Eagles’ first sectional title since 2003. “We weren’t going to give it up today. (A 1-0 loss to Haddonfield in last year’s final) was devastating and we didn’t want to feel that again,” said Eagles junior defender Amy Kinkler. The area’s leading scorer, Jamie Robinson, scored the first two goals of the game. Read more about the game and see who West Deptford will meet in the semis at NJ.com.
